How Do I Become A Christian?

In this episode, I explore a fundamental question: “How do I become a Christian?” I unpack the difference between simply identifying as a Christian and truly living as a disciple of Jesus—someone who puts His teachings into practice, even when obedience is difficult.

A Personal Journey with a Universal Question

In this episode I delve into the question of how Jesus is able to forgive sins that are committed against other people. Drawing on my personal reflections and passages from Mark, Acts, Matthew, Corinthians, Luke, John, and Proverbs, I discuss how Jesus so intimately identifies with His followers that any harm done to them is, in a real sense, harm done to Him. This profound unity and the fact that He is God are what give Jesus the authority to forgive these kinds of sins. I highlight that His forgiveness does not remove the responsibility for repentance, making amends, or seeking reconciliation, but I also remind you that whenever you sin against others, you are never acting in isolation — God is always present in those moments as well.

Friends or Frenemies? How Your Circle Might Be Sneaking Into Your Soul

In this episode, I deliver a message about the impact of our relationships on our faith journey. Drawing from 1 Corinthians 15:33, Proverbs 13:20, and Romans 12:2, I challenge you to distinguish between fitting in and truly belonging. I warn that bad company gradually erodes good values, while the right relationships sharpen and strengthen our faith. Rather than advocating isolation, I encourage intentional relationship-building that aligns with God's calling, urging you not to sacrifice your convictions for acceptance.

Why Jesus Calls Himself the Son of Man

In this episode, I explore the biblical title "Son of Man" as it relates to Jesus. I trace the term from the Old Testament in Ezekiel, where it simply means human being, to Daniel's vision of a divine, eternal ruler. I then examine how Jesus applies this title to himself throughout the Gospels, referencing his humanity, suffering, authority to forgive sins, and future glory. Combining these insights with my previous episode on "Son of God," I conclude that Scripture naturally portrays Jesus as both fully human and fully divine.

Why Is Jesus Called the Son of God?

In this episode, I explore the biblical meaning of Jesus being called the "Son of God." I clarify that this title doesn't imply physical fathering but reflects a special relationship and divine authority. Drawing from Old and New Testament passages, I connect the title to Jesus's role as the promised Messiah and eternal king. I also highlight the significance of Jesus being called "Emmanuel" and explain why Jewish leaders opposed His claims. I close by previewing next week's episode on why Jesus is called the "Son of Man."

Messiah 101: Jesus Is He!

In this episode, I explore the biblical concept of the Messiah, addressing Jesus' profound question: "Who do you say I am?" I explain that "Messiah" means "anointed one," referring to God's promised ruler who brings salvation and establishes His kingdom. Tracing the promise from Genesis through Isaiah, I show how Scripture points to Jesus as its fulfillment — the Son of Abraham, Son of David, and Son of God. Drawing on multiple Bible passages, I demonstrate that Jesus' identity as Messiah is confirmed through Scripture, divine revelation, spiritual testimony, and Jesus' own declarations.

Jesus: The Judge Of All The Earth

In this episode, I explore the biblical truth that Jesus Christ is the judge of all the earth. I begin in the Old Testament, where God is consistently portrayed as the righteous judge, referencing Genesis and Psalms. I then connect this to the New Testament, showing through Acts, John, 2 Corinthians, and Matthew that God has entrusted all judgment to Jesus. I conclude that this truth affirms Christ's deity and supports the doctrine of the Trinity, encouraging you to live righteously knowing you will one day stand before Jesus in judgment.

Jesus: The Mastermind Behind Creation

In this episode I explore the biblical teaching that Jesus is the creator of the universe. Drawing from Old Testament scriptures — including Genesis, Psalms, and Isaiah — I establish that God alone created all things. I then connect these passages to New Testament texts, particularly John 1, Hebrews 1, and 1 Corinthians 8:6, revealing that Jesus is the Word through whom everything was made. I conclude that Jesus is not part of creation but its creator — the one whose hands formed the heavens and were later stretched out on the cross.

Is Glorifying Jesus Idolatry, or Proper Worship?

In this episode I address whether glorifying Jesus constitutes idolatry or proper worship. Drawing from key biblical passages — including Romans 11, Revelation 5, and 1 Peter 4 — I demonstrate that Scripture ascribes divine glory, honor, and worship to both God the Father and Jesus Christ. I argue that worshiping Jesus is not idolatry because Jesus shares in the divine identity. I conclude the episode with a call for you to recognize Jesus as Savior, Lord, and Judge, and to confidently give Him the eternal glory that Scripture declares is rightfully His.

Unveiling the Divine: Why Jesus Is God According to Scripture

In this episode I tackle the question of why I worship Jesus as God, responding to critics who deny Jesus’ divinity. Drawing from both Testaments, I reference Isaiah’s prophecies, Matthew’s confirmation, and key New Testament passages from John, Hebrews, Revelation, Colossians, and Romans. I argue that Scripture overwhelmingly identifies Jesus as eternal, Creator, and fully God in human form. I conclude by highlighting Jesus’ own claim to equal honor with the Father, challenging you to recognize the biblical testimony of Christ’s divine nature.

Marriage Is A Choice! Not A Divine Directive

In this episode I challenge the common Christian belief that God will directly reveal who, when, or where to marry. I argue that marriage is a personal choice, not a divine directive. Examining frequently cited biblical examples — Adam and Eve, Isaac and Rebekah, Isaiah, and Joseph and Mary — I demonstrate that none of these stories support the idea that God explicitly selects spouses for individuals. I conclude that while God's providence is present, the Bible consistently shows that marriage decisions are made by the people involved.

Use What You Have, To Get What You Don’t Have

In this episode I explore the biblical truth that God has already equipped us as Christians with everything we need to live a godly life. Drawing from Genesis 1:28, 2 Peter 1:3-4, Ephesians 6:13-17, Luke 17:3-6, Judges 6:12-16, and Mark 6:30-44, I emphasize that we must actively use what we already have — our faith, spiritual armor, and God-given resources — to receive what we lack. Through stories of Gideon, Jesus feeding the multitude, and Paul's teachings, I encourage you to step out in faith now, trusting God to multiply your efforts.

Not Everybody Will Die: The Secret Truth

In this episode I challenge the belief that death is inevitable for everyone. While Hebrews 9:27 states that all must die, I highlight biblical exceptions—Enoch and Elijah—who were taken to heaven without experiencing death. I also explore how believers alive at Christ's return will be transformed rather than die, referencing 1 Thessalonians 4:14-17 and 1 Corinthians 15:51-53. I conclude that whether through death or transformation, we as believers ultimately triumph, as sin and death have been defeated through Jesus Christ’s sacrifice.

Why Do We Get Sick And Die?

In this episode I tackle the heavy topic of why we, as humans, get sick and die. Drawing from biblical scripture, I explain that sickness and death were never God's intention but resulted from Adam and Eve's disobedience in the Garden of Eden. I highlight that Jesus' healing ministry demonstrates God's true will for us to live abundantly. Despite the pain of losing loved ones, I offer hope, reminding you that God has promised to ultimately destroy death and suffering. I encourage you to hold onto faith and live righteously according to God's will.

Conceive It, Believe It, Achieve It: Unlocking Divine Possibilities

In this uplifting episode I share an encouraging and faith-filled message about how we can achieve the impossible when we trust in God. Using the beautiful analogy of pregnancy, I talk about how life starts at conception—long before anyone can see it—and how, in the same way, things begin in our minds before it shows up in our lives. Drawing inspiration from James 1:13-15 and Mark 11:24, I explore some reasons why our prayers might not always be answered, like lacking faith, God’s perfect timing, sin, wrong motives, or even answers that look different than we expect. Most importantly, I want to encourage you to align your beliefs with God’s will, so you can watch the impossible become possible in your own life!

Why Churches Need Money — and Why We Give

In this episode, I explore the topic of Christian giving, addressing why churches need financial support and its biblical foundation. I acknowledge that some leaders misuse funds but encourage you to give wisely rather than stop altogether. I emphasize that giving is not optional — it's a divine commandment, referencing Matthew 25's parable of the sheep and goats. I highlight that giving brings joy, fulfillment, and God's blessings in return, supported by Acts 20:35 and Luke 6:38. Even science backs the benefits of generosity. My challenge: give wisely, joyfully, and obediently.

You Shall Not Misuse The Name Of The Lord

In this episode, I clarify the true meaning of Exodus 20:7, "You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God." I argue that this verse is commonly misinterpreted as prohibiting casual expressions like "oh my God," when it actually warns against invoking God's name to justify evil or falsely claiming His authority. Using the Good News Translation, I connect this passage to Jesus' teachings on blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (Matthew 12:31-32, Mark 3:29, Luke 12:10), explaining that both warn against misrepresenting God's work or attributing it to evil forces.

Understanding Why God Answers Prayer: It’s Not About Us, It’s For His Name’s Sake

In this episode, I explore the theological truth that God answers prayers not because of their inherent power or our own merit, but for the sake of His name. Drawing from Psalms, Isaiah, Daniel, Ezekiel, Jeremiah, and John, I challenge the common church misconception that prayer itself compels God to act. Instead, I argue that God's responses are rooted in His character, faithfulness, and desire to uphold His glory. I encourage you to deepen your understanding of God's nature and His motivations for acting on our behalf.

The Paradox Of The Kingdom Of Heaven

In this episode, I explore the paradox of the Kingdom of Heaven, highlighting how Christian teachings often contradict worldly logic. I explain that God's kingdom operates "upside down"—where humility leads to greatness, weakness brings strength, suffering produces joy, and life is found through death. Drawing on Scripture, I challenge you to embrace these counterintuitive principles by surrendering pride, control, and self-interest. I emphasize that true transformation happens through surrender, and that only by losing ourselves in God do we discover the life we were created to live.

God Is Not Moved By Tears or Fear, God Is Moved By Faith

In this episode, I deliver a faith-based message centered on the idea that God is moved by faith, not tears or fear. Drawing from biblical scriptures, including the book of James, I explain why we as believers sometimes don't receive answers to our prayers, pointing to doubt and lack of faith as key obstacles. I encourage you to overcome fear and doubt, emphasizing that strong, unwavering faith is what pleases God and unlocks His power in our lives. This episode is a call toward spiritual transformation through renewing our minds and living boldly by faith.

From Dust to Glory: Understanding Our True Eternal Destiny

In this episode I challenge the common belief that God's plan is for humans to die and live eternally in heaven. Drawing from Scripture, including Isaiah 45, Psalms 115, Genesis 1-2, Revelation 5 and 21, Zechariah 8, and Matthew 6, I argue that God created humanity to inhabit and steward the earth. God's ultimate plan is to renew the earth and dwell with His people there forever, with the resurrection of the body preparing believers for eternal life on a restored earth.

The Greatest Truth About Overcoming Sin and Temptation

In this episode I tackles the misconception that sinful feelings must be acted upon. I explain that while baptism symbolizes dying to one's old self, it doesn't automatically eliminate sinful desires. I emphasize that overcoming sin requires daily effort and self-discipline, guided by God's grace. I challenge the cultural lie that feelings justify actions, encouraging you to create environments free from temptation and actively resist sinful urges, reminding you that through Christ, you are no longer slaves to sin.

Why True Christian Obedience Doesn’t Depend on Your Feelings or Motivations

In this episode I challenge the popular idea that Christians should only obey God when they feel like it or want to. Using biblical references, including Jesus' commandments, the parable of the two sons, and examples like Abraham, Moses, Jonah, and Jesus Himself, I argue that true obedience means doing what God commands regardless of feelings or motivations. I emphasize that results come from actions, not intentions, and that loving God is itself a commandment requiring obedience even when we don't feel like it.

Is Prayer The Solution? (Part 1)

In this episode, I challenge the popular Christian belief that prayer is the answer to every problem. While affirming prayer's importance, I warn against idolizing it or using it as a substitute for action. Drawing on Scripture, I argue that God has already provided solutions to most problems, but we must take responsibility and act. Whether confronting conflict, fleeing temptation, or training for godliness, the Bible calls us to do something. Prayer connects us to God, but faith without action is dead.

Is Prayer The Solution? (Part 2)

In this episode, I challenge the misconception that prayer itself is inherently powerful. Instead, I emphasize that it is God who is powerful, good, and merciful. Using biblical references like James 5:16 and Matthew 7:9-11, I explain that God answers prayers because of His nature, not because of the prayer's eloquence or force. Through a personal analogy of fatherhood, I illustrate that God responds to needs out of love. I encourage you to trust in God's character rather than treating prayer as a compellable tool.

The Greatest Misunderstanding About Following Jesus’ Example

In this episode I explore 1 John 2:6, which calls us to live as Jesus did. I clarify that this instruction should be taken seriously, not literally — meaning we aren't expected to replicate Jesus's every action, like walking everywhere or wearing sandals. Instead, the focus is on obeying God's commandments and reflecting Christ's righteousness in daily life. I emphasize that we are called to live our own lives according to God's will, following Jesus's teachings rather than imitating His specific actions.

In this episode I emphasizes the importance of remembering Jesus Christ's sacrifice as the foundation of Christian faith. Using the parable of the Unforgiving Servant (Matthew 18:23-35), I warn against forgetting God's mercy, which leads to unforgiveness and worldly conformity. In this episode I challenge the idea that God’s will is a hidden mystery requiring intense spiritual searching. Using biblical examples, I explain that if God has a specific task for you, He will communicate it directly.
